FIGHTING OVARIES WITH FASHION

The last fashion show of the semester was this past Thursday. The Ovarian Cancer Alliance of North Florida partnered with Fashion Inc. to put together a benefit fashion show. With only 4 weeks to put together a show, we spent many busy weeks making sure this show would be awesome. The stage was outlined by paint splattered pipe lines, and paint splattered & paper mache boxes displayed the sponsor in the background. The clothes were given by local boutiques, and the hair was done by a high fashion hair salon here in Tallahassee. The show was a lot of fun, but I am glad it is over... well that is till next semester.

rocky gathercole: backstage

One designer I was blessed to work with during Miami Beach International Fashion Week was Rocky Gathercole. He is a Filipino designer based in Dubai. His collection caught my attention the moment I walked backstage. He really inspired me, not only because he is Filipino, but because he isn't afraid to make these lavish outfits. They are meant for a showgirl, but all of us encouraged him to reach out to Lady Gaga. For about 2 hours me and a few other girls would working hard to put together all his intricate pieces. Each piece was made from real metal, feathers, and crystals. It was truly astonishing to see this in person.

an evening of lights

The other night I headed to watch an FSU fashion show with a group of girls I haven't seen in months. It was the first time seeing each other in forever and actually catching up. We were lucky enough to snag a few seats in the front row and get the best view of all the clothes. This was the fashion show that I participated in last year (and the first time I actually sewed clothes), however, due to my hectic schedule I wasn't able to do it this year. But I did go show my support. While I came to support, I left disrespected. Unfortunately, it was an uncalled for circumstance, but I am still glad I attended the show.

taking on adventures

This weekend I am heading to Atlanta to attend an Americasmart fashion show. An organization I am apart of, Fashion Inc, was lucky enough to be invited. So, I am going to be attending my "first legit fashion show" and I've been counting down the days for this. While it is only a two day trip, I've went a little overboard and packed a little too much. I'm ready and so is my camera. This is my first time to Atlanta, when it isn't the airport. As a shopaholic, my card is also ready!
 Shoes
jackets (it is suppose to be low of 40)
tops (from oversize sweaters to lace)
dress (the blue one I made)
bottoms (jeans, shoes, and a pencil skirt)
