vogue + daily outfits

While going through my daily blogs at work one day, I can across an article on VOGUE.COM. The article- 'Five Day, Five Looks, One Girl'- featured Esther Adams, a fashion writer for Vogue, and her outfits for the week. After working in an office five days a week, this gave me a little inspiration on outfit chooses for the upcoming week.

internship + editorial

I've been a little under the blue lately. I keep telling myself to post on the blog, but the moment I lay my head down I immediately pass out- i'm beginning to feel like my mother. I only have 3 weeks left in New York, which is bittersweet. I still have a few items on my NYC bucket list I want to accomplish before leaving- like walking in between subway carts while it's moving (jk). There are times I get homesick. I do miss the occasional sit down dinners with my family, centralized air condition in the house, THE BEACH & BEING TAN, and my friends. I'm a little scared to get back to driving, after 3 months of literally not driving plus my horrible driving skills (i'm asian and a women-duh!), I might have to practice a tad bit when I get back.

The first photo shoot I worked on for my internship at STYLECASTER involved Sky Ferreira. It was definitely interesting to see what goes on behind-the-scenes at a photo shoot- especially when you see the finished work after editing. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the photo shoot, taken from the SC Website.

While I didn't work on these photo shoots, I did have to do a little work getting clothing information on them. And they are still some of my favorites. You can find these at STYLECASTER under the fashion section. Make sure your tweet, love, and fb like! And if you haven't made an account, you should probably jump on that- or we can't be friends.

weekend + fashion campus nyc

THIS PAST WEEKEND, ME AND SOME FELLOW INTERNS FROM STYLECASTER ATTENDING THE FIRST 'FASHION CAMPUS NYC' HELD BY PARSONS NEW SCHOOL FOR DESIGN. FRIDAY AND SATURDAY WE LISTED TO EXPERTS FROM DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE FASHION INDUSTRY AND WERE ABLE TO NETWORK WITH THEM ALSO. BECAUSE WE KNOW HOW IMPORTANT CONNECTIONS AND NETWORKING IS IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY. AFTER A LONG DAY FRIDAY OF PREPARING FOR PHOTO SHOOTS THIS UPCOMING WEEK, ME AND ANOTHER INTERN RUSHED TO MAKE IT TO THE EVENT ON TIME ON FRIDAY. WE LISTENED TO FASHION INDUSTRY EXPERTS FROM CFDA, SAKS, WEST ELM, AND SO MUCH MORE. AFTER EACH OF THE SPOKE, WE WERE ABLE TO ASK THEM QUESTIONS. ON SATURDAY, WE WERE SEPARATED INTO DIFFERENT SESSIONS PERTAINING TO WHICH PART OF THE FASHION INDUSTRY WE ARE INTERESTED IN LIKE PR, PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, AND ACCOUNTING. AND TO FINISH THE EVENT, WE LISTENED TO DEREK LAM SPEAK. I WAS ABLE TO ASK HIM A QUESTION OF MY OWN AND HE KINDLY ANSWERED. I GREW MORE RESPECT FOR DEREK LAM AFTER THIS WEEKEND.

please don't rip my heart

Unfortunately this past week I got caught up in the fact that I am in New York that I forgot to do my assignments. It happens. During my internship, I am surrounded by so many amazing clothes all day long. This makes me want to go out shopping. But I am still holding off on my addiction till the weather warms up here in New York. Instead, I am currently working on a DIY making up a ripped t-shirt that has the face of a skull on the back of it. My friend did awhile ago and it looked wicked awesome.

THE ART OF PROCRASTINATION

Ok, I am a horrible all-night studier. I decided to take a break from studying for my 2 final exams tomorrow to do a little web browsing. It turned into a 2 hour study break. My first exam is at 7:30am. Whoever decided it was ok to put a 7:30am final was seriously on crack! It might seem like I am having an obsession with sunglass since my last post was also about sunglasses. But Burberry ads are one of my favorites. The pop of color in these ads really draw the viewer. I need a pair of purple sunglasses.

OFF THE SHOULDER

As the temperature rises, everyone starts to wear less clothes. Even though I am putting away a few of my jeans and bringing out the shorts, I am still dressing like its 10 degrees colder than it really is. The one thing I will be seen doing a lot of more of lately is the one shoulder shirt. Since I tend to wear loose shirts, it is easy for me to allow one of my shoulders to show. Hopefully this heat and UV rays won't give me any awkward tan lines when I do it.
